“When Love Is Not Enough” program aims to bring awareness to drug use in Carteret County

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Teen drug use is an increasing concern across the country.

Community members, local law enforcement and the school system in Carteret County are partnering together to bring awareness to the issue.

They’re using a program called “When Love Is Not Enough.”

The program looks to help folks focus on the preventative measures of drug abuse.

“We can give all the love we want to give and sometimes that’s not enough to prevent kids from experimenting with chemicals,” said Carteret County Schools Spokeswoman Sue Kreuser.

The awareness program will be held Wednesday night at 7 in the West Carteret High School auditorium.

It will feature many speakers designed to speak to middle and high school students and their families about drug abuse and awareness.
