New Cadet Program launches in Bertie County

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)-   Former Atlanta Hawks basketball player and Bertie high basketball star, Kent Bazemore, is stopping by to help announce the state’s first new correctional officer cadet program Friday morning.

This program is open to 11th and 12th graders,  and also puts them on the fast track to career as a correctional officer for our state’s department of public safety. The first students are expected to begin classes in January 2016.
