ECU says quantity and quality of students admitted on the rise

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – ECU continues to establish itself as a top university in North Carolina. This time, the quality and quantity of students has improved in 2015. 28,289 total students started classes earlier this month, and their average test scores were considerably higher than students of years past. The average SAT test score for the new class is 1,061 and the GPA 3.76.

ECU says Pirate Nation is getting competitive and high school students who are looking to apply need to make sure they’re ready.

“Be prepared,” says Dr. John Fletcher, associate provost for enrollment services at ECU. “Take those tests earlier, either the SAT or the ACT. Make sure you apply early so that we can have an adequate amount of time so we can review your application for admission.”

ECU was named the “Best Bang for the Buck” in the Southeast by Washington Monthly. The admission office is expecting the number of people who apply to the school to continue to increase this year.
