Greenville man arrested for trafficking opiates

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division just finished a one month investigation into the illegal trafficking of opiates. The sheriff’s office had been receiving complaints about opiate trafficking in the Old River Rd area.

Detectives identified Garland Virts Jr. of Greenville as a suspect, and after a brief investigation, charged and arrested Virts with 2 counts of trafficking opiates. Virts has been processed at Pitt County Detention Center and is currently in custody under a $250,000.00 secured bond.
