Wounded service members enjoy three day golf tournament

WALLACE, N.C. (WNCT) – Wounded service members are enjoying a three day golf tournament this week at River Landing Country Club in Wallace.

And to add to the game, they are paired up with celebrities and sports legends, along with retired three or four star generals.

Just to name a few, NASCAR driver Mike Skinner, former offensive lineman for the Washington Redskins Ken Huff, MLB catcher Johnny Bench and MLB infielder Doug Flynn.

All proceeds from this week’s events benefit Hope For The Warriors.

Retired Marine, Ryan Harshman said, “Being around Hope For The Warriors, being involved with Hope For The Warriors, especially as a wounded warrior, you’re forced to surround positiveness in your life.”

The group hosts support programs in order to restore a sense of self, the family unit and hope for service members and military families.
