Nearly 100 jobs coming to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Walmart is working to fill 95 part-time and full-time associate positions for its new store in Jacksonville.

The retail giant plans to open a Walmart Neighborhood Market in the winter. The company pushed back the opening from fall and blamed construction.

For now, the company is accepting applications in person at a temporary hiring center at 1899 North Marine Blvd.

Those interested can apply Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online at

According to store manager Dwyne Batin the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. ”We are excited to provide jobs and a new grocery option to the Jacksonville community,” said Batin in a release.

Some of those hired can expect to start work in December.
