Suspect out on bond after stabbing near New Bern bar

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – A late night stabbing near a New Bern sports bar sends one person to the hospital.

New Bern Police tell 9 On Your Side officers were called to the Mesh Sports Lounge Thursday night in reference to a stabbing. Police say the call came in at 9:20p.m.

Officers say when they arrived at the Trent Road’s bar they found one person with stab wounds. The victim was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.

Police quickly identified the suspect as 23-year-old Troy Duncan. Duncan was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. He was taken to the Craven County Jail and given a $25,000 bond.

A search of jail records shows Duncan has since bonded out of jail.
