GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Greenville-Pitt Chamber of Commerce hosted their 6th annual legislative breakfast Friday.
More than one hundred people turned out for the event. Rep. Brian Brown and Sen. Don Davis and Louis Pate were all on hand.
Those in attendance were give the opportunity to ask their elected leaders questions, ranging from economic development to the situation school districts face without a budget.
Scott Senatore, President of the Chamber, said the event gives the community a chance to hear from their lawmakers in person.
“I think it’s good to know kind of what goes on behind the scenes in Raleigh,” Senatore said. “I think everybody in here, they own a business, they work for a business, you know sometimes these issues, their focused on their business. It’s our job as the Chamber to stay on top of these issues for them to kind of be that public policy arm.”
All three lawmakers on hand said they are working hard to get a budget passed and understand the difficulty school districts face with the uncertainties surrounding teacher assistants.
