Morehead City Police offer after school tutoring this school year

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Police in Morehead City will be holding after school tutoring for kids of all ages this school year.

The program is free and aimed at helping kids excel in the classroom.

Tutoring will be offered at the Morehead City Police Station Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting September 14th and going throughout the school year.

Frank Price with the Morehead City Police Department said, “When they need help, and kind of need that extra push when they don’t want to do it, we’re there to make sure because we ask them right when they first come in, what do you have?”

The police department also provides laptops to students who need help with homework that may be assigned online.

The tutoring with police officers is welcome to elementary, middle and high schoolers.

You must sign your child in at the front desk before dropping them off.
