Jacksonville man accused of sex offenses with a minor

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Jacksonville man is behind bars accused of sex offenses with a minor.

25-year-old Roy Michael Bell is charged with 1 Count of First Degree Sexual Offense with a Child, 1 Count of Indecent Liberties with a Child, and 1 Count of Crime Against Nature. The charges stem from an an incident which occurred in 2012.

Deputies say, at that time, warrants were issued on Bell, but he fled the area. On July 30th, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado Springs notified the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office that they had Bell in custody. Bell was extradited back to Onslow County on August 11th and the warrants were served on him.

Bell is in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $120,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is August 12, 2015.
