Two sea turtles rehabilitated, released back to ocean

SURF CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Two sea turtles are back in the ocean after being rehabilitated in Surf City.

Green sea turtle, Kit, and Loggerhead sea turtle, Flip Flop, passed their tests and were released back in the big blue Tuesday morning.

Employees and volunteers from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center have been working to prepare them for this big day.

You can visit the hospital when it’s open for tours from noon to 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and $4 for active military. It’s located at 302 Tortuga Lane in Surf City.
