Veteran Cemetery now in Kinston

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – A local funeral home in Kinston is adding Veteran burial plots. Mills Funeral Home is giving over 500 plots to local veterans. All they have to do is show that they were enrolled. The free plots will include a neighboring plot for family members. The funeral home president home says he wants people to be able to visit their families without having to drive a great distance.

“I am a veteran, and being on that side and my father was a veteran serving the army, I just thought it would be a great gesture to give back in that manner to the veterans in Lenoir, Jones and adjacent counties,” said Clemonte Mills.

Mills says he wants to honor those who serve and continue to serve. The ribbon cutting is set for 11 Saturday morning.
