Change of Command aboard Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (WNCT) – A change of command aboard Camp Lejeune Friday.

During the formal ceremony, Brigadier General Robert Castellvi relinquished command to Brigadier General Thomas Weidley.

Weidley served combat deployment as part of “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” After returning, he worked at Quantico and eventually became the President of the Marine Corps University.

Weidley said, “It’s the beginning of an era for me, to be able to support families, be able to support Marines to ensure they’re getting the things they need to enable them to be successful on the battlefield of the future.”

Weidley is a highly decorated officer and brings his wife Jill and two children Max and Zoey with him to Camp Lejeune.
