New Bern alternating traffic with dozens of street repair projects

New Bern street resurfacing projects affect impacts daily commutes.

NEW BERN, NC (WNCT) – Drivers in New Bern will be seeing repairs done at dozens of streets over the next four months.

Barnhill Contracting Company is leading up the project after winning the bid back in April.

The work will be completed in four phases based on the city’s priority ranking list and highly traveled streets.

Commuters will see crews out in the morning and through the evening. The goal is to keep at least one lane of traffic open during the resurfacing stage.

Phase one

Trent Road, from Simmons Street to First Street.  Fort Totten Drive, Second/Rhem Street, Third Street, Fifth Street, Ninth Street, and portions of Pollock Street.

Phase two

Contentnea Avenue from National to Fayetteville, and Neuse Avenue from National to Greensboro street

Phase three

Chestnut Avenue, Pembroke Avenue and College Street.

Phase four

Elizabeth Avenue to Tobiano Drive.
