North Carolina wins in Day 1 of Tournament of State Champions

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)-  East Surry the North Carolina 9-10 year old state champions felt right at home as they blew past South Carolina Saturday in the first game of the Tournament of State Champions.

The Pilot Mountain natives got it going quick, scoring nine runs in the first inning alone.

Folger Boaz and Luke Brown had 3 hits each in the contest. East Surry tallied a total of 17 hits on the day.

The game went to 4 innings, final score 20-0 East Surry.

North Carolina will take on Tennessee at 10am Sunday morning.


Tournament will be held from July 24-29, 2015.
