Small town brewery brings in big business

FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A hidden gem in the East is bringing in big business for small towns.

Duck-Rabbit Brewery in Farmville turns eleven this summer, which comes at a time of huge growth for the business. They’ve recently expanded their taproom hours and added weekend entertainment. They distribute all the way from D.C. to Alabama, and plan to expand to Florida soon.

Duck-Rabbit’s Rocky Freeman says it’s benefitting the local economy.

“It’s brought huge business to North Carolina and especially Farmville, because there’s not a lot going on here. Greenville’s a huge city and they don’t even have a brewery yet. So we’re the closest brewery to Greenville. So it’s been really good for the small town,” Freeman said.

You can get a taste of Duck-Rabbit for yourself every Thursday through Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m.
