6 in custody after Kinston murder

KINSTON, NC (WNCT) — The Kinston Department of Public Safety rounded up six suspects in connection with the death of a 71-year-old man.

Police say Jack Davis Jr. died after being injured during a home invasion on Sunday.

It happened on Girl Scout Road.

Police arrested Johnny Ray Sanders, 21, N’Finity Jones, 17, Jonathan Ordonez, 16, Adrian Torres Lopez, 19, Jaime Luis Torres, 20 and Phoenix Hannibal, 36.

Police arrested Sanders and Hannibal connected with the murder on Friday. Jones and Ordonez on Thursday, Lopez on Wednesday and Jaime on Tuesday.

Police say Davis went to Vidant Medical Center after the incident and later died from blunt force trauma to his head, according to an autopsy report.
