Deputies: Jacksonville man arrested for stealing and selling scrap metal

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -A Jacksonville man faces multiple felony charges for stealing scrap metal.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office tells 9 On Your Side deputies arrested Joseph Burgess on July 14th.

The 32-year-old is charged with several felonies including Breaking and Entering and Larceny.

Deputies say Burgess stole and sold scrap metal, diesel engines, and engine parts.

Burgess was taken to the Onslow County Detention Center and given a $32,000 bond.
