EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Emerald Isle Police are investigating an online Confederate merchandise store after complaints of undelivered purchases.
Police say the department received complaints from all over the United States regarding “Stainless Banners.” Investigators say the majority of the complaints stem from customers who say they placed and paid for merchandise they never received. The customers also complained about their inability to reach the business by phone.
As a result of the complaints the Emerald Isle Police Department launched an investigation. The investigation led police to determine the business is no longer based out of Emerald Isle and now operates via the “Internet Only.”
Police say according to the owner, he was having issues with “Pay Pal” releasing funds for the orders, as result of a recent influx of orders. As result, he has been unable to obtain merchandise from distributors.
Police say they have contacted Pay Pal and confirmed the fund freeze.
On Wednesday, the owner suspended the website, at the request of the police, until the funding issues can be resolved.
Any customers wanting a refund can launch a complaint with PayPal (402-935-7733) and Pay Pal will refund their money.
