Miles for Mitzi Moye

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT)- Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston is running miles for Mitzi Moye, their longtime high school college advisor. Moye was hit by a car in June while on her morning run. Her friends and family are running as many miles as they can while she is in the hospital. Mitzi is extremely active and ran everyday. The campaign started on June 30, and so far 1,698 miles have been run in her honor. Every time someone runs they are encouraged to use the hashtag #MilesforMitzi on social media.

“It’s really representative of her and how much she has pushed students at Parrott to achieve and just keep going farther and do as much as you can do every single day, ” Brooks Sutton from Parrott Academy said.

There have been over a hundred participants so far. Organizers say if you add the miles up, miles for Mitzi would stretch from Atlantic Beach to Texas.
