ECU football is grinding through summer conditioning

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – In less than two months, the ECU Pirates will take the field, opening their 2015 season against Towson in Greenville on September 5.

And every day the Pirates are working to get game-day ready.

Strength and conditioning coach Jeff Connors has the squad sweating through grueling summer workouts.

Connors is especially focused on enhancing the Pirates speed. Upon Connors arrival to the ECU program, just 14 players could run a 4.6 or faster 40-yard-dash. Now, he says, he’s up to 36 players.

With official fall practices just a few short weeks away, the pressure is on in the weight room to impress on the field.
