Fayetteville Police Officer caught in drive by shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- authorities say someone shot at a police officer stopping a motorist for a traffic violation.

Police Chief Harold Medlock says the shooting occurred just after midnight. The driver was cooperating until the officer started writing a ticket. Suddenly a separate car drove by and shot at the officer multiple times. The officer’s vehicle was hit but no one was injured.

The mobile dash-mounted camera did record the entire incident.
