Omar Sharif dies at age 83

CAIRO, EGYPT (WNCT) – Omar Sharif, the Egyptian born star of “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Doctor Zhivago” has died.
His agent says Sharif died Friday from a heart attack in Cairo. Sharif’s death comes weeks after it was revealed he had Alzheimer’s disease. Sharif received a best supporting actor Oscar Nomination for his work in “Lawrence of Arabia.” He co-wrote a newspaper bridge column for many years and lent his name to a popular bridge app.
