In the wake of the recent Charleston shooting, Jacksonville law enforcement hopes to educate church leaders and community members on security and crime prevention.
Jacksonville police and the Chamber of Commerce will hold a crime prevention and security seminar designed specifically for churches Thursday morning beginning at 9 A.M.
The program is free and open to the public.
Police Chief Mike Yaniero said the seminar is useful for anyone.
“Whether it’s a police department, the city hall, whether it’s a school, whether it’s a church, or a business, they need to be aware of their surroundings. Crime prevention is everybody’s responsibility,” he said.
To register, call the Jacksonville Chamber at 910-347-3141.
