Beaufort Co. commissioners vote to accept Vidant EMS grant

Beaufort County, N.C. (WNCT) – Beaufort County commissioners voted to accept an EMS grant from the Vidant Foundation, Tuesday night.

The grant could pave the way for updated ways to keep you safe in the event of an emergency.

$500,000 will go directly to emergency services recommendations, including possibly stationing full-time paramedics in the northeastern sections of the county.

The board previously hired a consultant to evaluate the county’s emergency services and to offer recommendations to maximize efficiency and response time.

That full report is expected at the county’s next meeting.
