Farmville man dies in car accident on July 4th

WALSTONBURG, N.C. (WNCT) – A Farmville man is dead after a single car accident on July 4th.

The NC Highway Patrol tells 9 On Your Side the accident happened on Lewis Store Road and US-264S near Walstonburg in Greene County.

Troopers say 30-year-old Leon Parker was killed after his car ran off the road, hit two embankments before overturning.

A viewer sent in this photo of the car after emergency crews flipped the car back over.

The viewer says the accident happened around 4 o’clock Saturday morning.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
