Farmville, PCC move forward with satellite campus plans

The Town of Farmville and Pitt Community College are moving forward with plans to open a satellite campus.

PCC now has a tentative agreement to purchase the old Bank of America building on Main Street.

Mayor Etsil Mason tells us she has secured two grants worth a total of $60,000 to put towards renovations of the building. The town has also raised another $13,000 thanks to donations from residents and is looking to raise more funds.

Mason says she is hopeful Pitt Community College will be able to begin construction by September 1st with a goal of starting classes at the new satellite campus in January.
