ENFIELD, N.C. (WNCT) – The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office makes second arrest in the murder of an Enfield man.
Deputies say 20-year-old Jarshamel Cambridge died after being shot on June 22nd. Investigators say the shooting happened near Freedom and Franklin Streets in Enfield.
Cambridge was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he died from his injuries.
Deputies tell 9 On Your Side they have identified and obtained arrest warrants for three suspects in the case. Deputies say two of those suspects, a teenager and a woman, were arrested and charged this week.
Nineteen-year-old Daquon Marrow was arrested for murder on Thursday. Marrow is being held in Halifax County Jail without bond. His first court appearance is July 22nd.
Twenty-one-year-old Tanika Arrington was charged with obstruction of justice. Investigators say she allegedly covered up and hid evidence from deputies. She is out of jail on a $10,000 bond. Arrington’s first court appearance is Aug. 26th.
Deputies say Arrington is the girlfriend of the third suspect, Dexter Taylor, 22. Taylor is charged with an open count of murder.
Deputies say Taylor is still at large and is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.
