Jill Jelnick

Jill Jelnick is an associate producer/editor and sports reporter for WNCT 9 On Your Side.

Jill Jelnick joined the WNCT 9 On Your Side news team in May 2015. She is currently an associate producer, video editor, and sports anchor/reporter for WNCT 9 On Your Side. She is the producer of The Final Score, and is also a part of the Touchdown Friday team.

Jill is a former softball player for East Carolina University. She received her bachelor’s degree in English and graduated summa cum laude in 2014. The following year, she received her master’s degree in Teaching from ECU while working as a sports intern for WNCT.

Jill is originally from Aliso Viejo, California. She played softball in Southern California all through high school before being recruited by the Pirates in 2010. Jill was president of the C-USA SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) and vice president of ECU SAAC. Jill was the Conference USA Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, and she was also the first player in program history to be named to the C-USA All-Academic Team three times.

When Jill isn’t working she is spending time with friends and family, playing co-ed softball, and traveling to different sports stadiums across the country.
