2 Kinston men charged in attempted armed robbery

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Two men are behind bars in connection with an attempted armed robbery and burglary.

It happened June 17th at a home on East Vernon Avenue in Kinston.

Officers responding to the scene say they were told several black male suspects forcibly entered the residence. One victim called 911 from the bathroom of the home, while another told officers he was asleep in his bed when he was awakened by the men, who were pointing guns at him. They demanded money, searched the man, and placed him in handcuffs before fleeing the scene when they heard police sirens.

Police charged  Jimmie Demiko Moore and Tyricco Mario Pitts with 1st Degree Burglary and Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon. Both were placed under a $1,000,000 secured bond.

They also charged a third suspect, Quatisha Sherell Maye, with Resist Obstruct and Delay. Their bond was set at $500 unsecured.
