Chocowinity man busted for meth

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Deputies arrested a Chocowinity man on drug charges Sunday.

41-year-old Billy Dwayne Ellison Jr. was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Vehicle to Store/Keep a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Investigators say his arrest was the result of K-9 Elza alerting deputies to a vehicle Ellison was driving during a traffic stop. After a search, they found 3 plastic bags containing Crystal Methamphetamine, Digital Scales, glass pipes used to smoke Methamphetamine and plastic bags used to repackage Methamphetamine.

Ellison was placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond.
