GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A man is in custody after two people were shot in Pitt County.
The sheriff’s office says it happened around 2 o’clock Sunday morning on Briley Road.
Officials say there was a large party at the location and an argument escalated between two men.
The suspect, Marqhuan Roberson, is believed to have shot the two victims after the argument. Roberson turned himself in after he was named as the suspect.

An early morning shooting left two people injured. Christy Wallace with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says two men were shot in their legs Sunday morning after a man fired into a group of people in a trailer park just north of Greenville.
Wallace says the incident happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday at the park near 552 Briley Road, near Wellcome Middle School.
Dartaveris Thigpen, 22, and Michael Clemons, 24, both suffered injuries. Wallace says the injuries are not life threatening. Investigators say it is not clear if the men were targeted by the shooter.
The investigation is on-going and anyone with additional information is asked to call The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.
