Greenville police officer receives national attention on first Father’s Day

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Greenville Police officer is receiving national attention on his first Father’s Day after a photo from his swearing in ceremony went viral. The shot of Officer Phillip Haning and his 6-month-old son Nolan has been shared hundreds of times since it was posted on the Greenville Police Department’s Facebook page earlier this week.

The photo shows Haning taking an oath to serve and protect as Nolan joins in on the pledge. Publications from around the country have re-shared the story, showcasing the dedication of the whole family to the call of duty.
