GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Friday morning, utilities crews worked to repair a water main break in Greenville.
It happened right near the intersection of Pactolus highway and Terrace court around 6 a.m.
9 On Your Side was on scene as crews pumped out water, before being able to repair the break.
Residents in that area were without water for nearly five hours, causing headaches for folks nearby.
“We have a couple of water jugs, but we can’t run our water, can’t flush the toilets, can’t make coffee…you know we can’t, can’t, can’t. Right now it’s not a super deal. When it starts getting hot in a couple hours, it will be a super deal,” Nelson Harrington said.
Crews fixed the break and restored water to residents just before 11 a.m.
Greenville Utilities blames the massive tree roots for the water main break.
