Woman injured in Dare Co boat incident

WANCHESE, N.C. (WNCT) – A woman went to the hospital in Dare County after the boat she was on ran aground.

Coast Guard Oregon Inlet crew members and Dare County EMTs responded on Tuesday at the Wanchese Harbor.

A 62-year-old woman was transported to the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head after she was injured aboard 32-foot sport fishing vessel Not Fancy.

“The crew at Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet has an excellent working relationship with Dare County medical personnel, allowing us to respond rapidly to medical emergencies that are far more serious than we are qualified to handle as first responders,” said Petty Officer 1st Class Louis Keating, Coast Guard boat operator for the case.
