Two honored at Pitt Co appreciation dinner

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Some first responders in Pitt County were recognized for what they do at an appreciation dinner on Tuesday night.

First Alert Meteorologist Candice Boling served as the emcee of the event that the Pitt County Chamber of Commerce hosted.

A six-year veteran of the Greenville Police Department and a thirty-year veteran of Greenville Fire/Rescue were honored.

Detective Matthew Mcknight earned the “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” title.

Captain Greg Allen was recognized as “Fire/Rescue Employee of the Year” on the eve of his final day of working for the city.

Allen had just one more shift ahead of him before he completed his career.
