Onslow Co. board votes 4-1 to adopt budget

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A few Onslow County departments will see an increase in funds after the Board of Commissioners adopted the next fiscal year budget.

Tuesday night, the board voted 4 to 1 to approve it.

Besides increases to K-12 and Coastal Carolina Community College, the sheriff’s department will get 5 new employees; 4 are positions at the detention center.

And with that also comes a 1 percent cost of living pay increase.

The county also worked up sales tax information to deliver to the NC Association of County Commissioners as the General Assembly debates tax changes.
