GUC: Temporary conversion to Chlorine ahead

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Some Greenville customers will notice their water smells and tastes differently later in June.

That’s what Greenville Utilities is expecting when they change the disinfectant used in treating water. The process starts on June 22nd.

GUC is going to use chlorine.

It says there’s no health risk even if there’s a mild chlorine taste.
