GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – With temperatures reaching the triple digits, many are looking at ways to beat the heat. But the heat isn’t all that bad for some businesses in the east.
Many business owners say as the temperatures rise, so do their sales.
“With the heat, we’ve seen a lot of people come not only because of the slides but the kiddie features and everything the kids love to do,” said Josh Bass, Aquatics Director of Lions Water Adventure Park.
Hundreds packed into Kinston’s water park Tuesday looking for a chance to cool off. Bass says in order to keep all the people happy, the park opened up more concession stands to handle the demand.
“We always love when we have a full house out here especially seeing all the kids enjoy it,” said Bass.
Folks who wanted to take advantage of the AC turned to places to get frozen treats.
Scullery owner Matt Sculley says his business is seeing a pre-summer bump in customers.
“We’ve stayed pretty busy,” said Sculley. “Our morning and breakfast crowd has picked up a little bit, I think because everyone is trying to get things done before it gets too hot outside.”
With summer just around the corner businesses are looking forward to beating the heat by raking in cash. During this time of year sales typically fluctuate.
