FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Smartphone-based car service Uber says Fayetteville has the highest percentage of drivers with a military connection.
Uber says that nationwide, more than 10,000 active or retired military members and their family members are Uber drivers, earning $1 million per day, according to The Fayetteville Observer (http://bit.ly/1GGyM9I ).
Uber says that other cities such as San Diego may have more military-related drivers, but Fayetteville has the highest percentage. About half the drives in the area have a military connection.
Arathi Mehrotra, an Uber spokesman for North Carolina, says that veterans generally get better ratings from customers than the average driver.
