Greenville settles 2013 lawsuit with firefighter

Greenville, N.C. (WNCT) – The city of Greenville is going to pay 7-thousand dollars to settle a 2013 lawsuit from a firefighter.

Lisa Davis-Christ and Greenville Professional Fire Fighters Association brought on the lawsuit saying she faced unnecessary disciplinary action and was denied a promotion.

With the settlement, the city is agreeing to certain acts, and she and the group won’t go after the city again for the claim.

City attorney David Holec told council members, “The city doesn’t admit that its liable in any way and denies that any action taken violated the rights of the association and Davis- Christ. The settlement was agreed to in order to avoid any further controversy, time, expense, and inconvenience.”
