Bond request denied for Craven Co. man accused of killing wife

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – A Craven County man accused of shooting and killing his wife remains behind bars.

A judge denied 38-year-old Shelton Van Lilly’s bond request on Friday. He’s charged with an open count of murder in the death of Jennifer Lilly.

It happened at his home on Campbell Road on March 17th.

His case is continued.
