Jessica Jewell

Jessica Jewell joined the 9 On Your Side news team in June 2015. She is currently a general assignment reporter and digital journalist for WNCT 9 On Your Side across various dayparts.

Jessica comes from Clayton, North Carolina. She is a proud Pirate who graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Business Administration. At ECU, she was the Outstanding Graduate for the School of Communication, one of five Robert H. Wright Leadership Award winners, and an EC Scholar in the Honors College.

Before coming to WNCT, Jessica worked as the anchor and special events reporter for PEG Media Partners in Knightdale. She also interned with WNCN, NBC News Channel in Charlotte, and NBC News Channel in Washington, D.C.

Jessica’s interest in journalism sparked when she was interviewed on TV as a second grader, and it has flourished ever since. She has an incredible passion for connecting with people and sharing stories that need to be heard.

When Jessica is not on air, she enjoys volunteering with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, spending time with her dog, and supporting Pirate athletics.
