SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) – Ninety of some of the top amateur and professional golfers will tee off Thursday in the 5th annual Cutter Creek Classic. The annual 4-day tournament is a part of the SwingThought.com tour (formerly known as the Hooters NGA Tour).
The Swingthought.com tour features some of the top amateur and professional golfers in the country. Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, and Jim Furyk are among the current PGA professionals that got their start on this tour.
The 90-golfer field is vying for more than $200,000 with the winner cashing in at $20,000.
The tournament starts Thursday at 8 o’clock and runs through Sunday. There will be a cut leading into Saturday and Sunday. Every day is free to the public.
On Wednesday, Cutter Creek hosted the Long Drive competition and a Pro-Am tournament. Ken Looper took first in the Long Drive with a drive of 338 yards.
This year’s field features 16 golfers with North Carolina ties. Also, the field is highlighted by some notable hard-hitters including Ken Looper, Josh Broadaway, Bobby Wyatt, and Nick Rousey. For a full list of this year’s competitors, click here.
