App Wrap Wednesday 6/3

App Wrap Wednesday 6/3 (Image 1)

Up first…Mistaken. This app is so great because it’s so weird. Take, for instance, this cryptic message: “You will take a photo/your photo will be shown to as few people as possible/you will never see your photo again/you might see someone else’s photo. You will only see it once.”

That’s the entire premise, and it’s pretty great. Take a photo, send it off, and get one back. Prepare for a lot of boring, out of focus garbage, some rare gems and probably a fair share of inappropriate shots as well. But, hey, it’s all about the thrill, right? Free at Google Play.

There are a lot of apps out there that can turn paper digital. But, Microsoft’s Office Lens, previously exclusive to Windows Phone, is now available to everyone and it’s awesome.

It will eliminate all the paper clutter in your life and lets you take notes by just snapping a picture. It automatically trims and clones the image and converts it to a Word doc that you can edit. It can even be turned into a searchable PDF. Free for both Android and iPhone.

Pext is capitalizing on the meme craze by turning your texts into “memespeak.” Type in a text message and add a hashtag describing what the image should be. That’s it. It’s that simple.

Will it catch on? Who knows? Right now it’s just something else to kill time and annoy your friends. Free at the App Store and Google Play.
