Crews rescue man trapped in grain bin in Tyrrell County (Image 1)

The Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies worked to free a man trapped in a grain bin on Monday.

The county fire department along with Washington-Tyrrell EMS and Vidant Air Helicopter spent the afternoon rescuing the man.

Sheriff Darryl Liverman said it happened at a grain bin on N.C. 94 South, which is about 3 miles outside of Columbia.  Crews were able to get the man out safely, and he was cleared by EMS crews on scene.
