Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune’s services will be suspended for the duration of the Memorial Day weekend. The base says the hospital will have suspended operations from May 21 until May 26.

A spokesperson says the closure is due to the need for critical renovations. Inpatient services will be limited during this period and emergency surgeries will not be offered.

Anyone that may go into labor will be transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital. OB Triage will remain operational to monitor expectant moms on base.

The facility will be reopened Tuesday after safety checks are complete.
