Carteret Community College is holding a grand opening celebration for its new Veteran’s Center on Thursday.
The school has been working on the facility for about a year and says it is part of a commitment to helping veterans be successful. About 200 veterans take classes at Carteret Community College. There will be multiple resources available to them at the center.
“It’s very important our veterans come to us with the need for assistance transitioning from military environment into an education environment,” said Fran Emory from Carteret Community College Student Services.
The school says it hopes veterans will make use of the facility during breaks between classes. There are computers, printers, a television and a small kitchenette available for their use.
Service animals are also allowed to go inside.
