Two teenagers are in custody, charged with attempted first degree murder after a 14-year-old male was shot in the stomach in Greenville.
Greenville police say a 14-year-old male was shot on the night of Wednesday, May 6 on Hopkins Drive off Evans Street near the Arlington Boulevard intersection.
The shooting victim was able to talk with EMS crews before he was taken to Vidant Medical Center, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators believe the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute between individuals who knew one another.
On Sunday, May 17 Greenville police arrested and charged 16-year-old Kyshii Perry with Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill. Another 14-year-old male faces the same charges. He has been at the Juvenile Detention Center under a secure custody order since Friday afternoon.
Perry is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.
Because of he victim’s age his identity is being withheld.
