Update: Weather break allows repairs on Country Club Road in Jacksonville

Drivers traveling on Country Club Road in Jacksonville may get some traffic relief soon. 

City officials say a break in weather in allowed crews to make some repairs to a large hole surrounding a temporary repair on the road. 

On Tuesday, construction crews plan to pave the patch, weather permitting. 

Over the weekend, weather is caused the delay for a temporary repair in Onslow County.

The city tells 9 On Your Side a large hole has formed around a temporary road patch on Country Club Road in Jacksonville.  Officials are warning drivers of the potential for slow and constricted traffic in the area.

Officials say a temporary patch was put down after an emergency repair. The weather has prevented construction crews from putting down a permanent patch. 

The City of Jacksonville issued a traffic advisory for Country Club Road at Commerce Road. Drivers traveling on Country Club Road toward Bell Fork Road from Western Boulevard will be impacted by a lane diversion. Additionally, drivers will traveling westbound will be routed into the center lane. 

City leaders say the traffic advisory will continue until the weather clears enough for construction crews to make the necessary repairs to the road.
